Project 52: Intro

Project 52.

One year, fifty-two weeks and … fifty-two pieces of music.

This is an idea I’ve had for awhile, a good six months at least, and to be honest I’ve been putting it off. And putting it off. And … However, with a new year comes a new (personal) project.

Here’s the deal: I plan to post a new(ish) piece of music every week from the first week in January to the last week in December this year (2008.) And, if I like what I post enough, I’ll make it available over on SongSlide. I may post other tunes too, but all the Project 52 stuff will be tagged as such.

Why do this? Well … because I want to. Because it should be fun. Because it’ll be interesting to see if I can actually do it. But I warn you: the tunes could range anywhere from a 20 second ringtone to a 10 minute orchestral arrangement, or literally anything in between. I’ll be as surprised as you at what I come up with. I should mention that a large part of this year will be spent in Switzerland working on a large scale media project, so don’t be surprised if some of the tunes suddenly start sounding like a film/TV score.

That’s it. The first piece should be up sometime during this weekend. If you want to get involved, feel free to leave a comment. I’d love to hear from you.

I must be nuts …

  1. One vote for 10-minute orchestrals! :D

  2. Yeah, you would! :P

Mind you, I fully expect there to be at least a few lengthy orchestral pieces at some point …

  4. 4 weeks, no music…

    What happened?

  5. Sadly, Real Life happened.

However, the music is still happening. January’s music will, I hope, be going up over the next few days, all four week’s worth.

Thanks for being interested enough to leave a comment!
